Sales Associate

You would be the person who talks to students, parents, and schools — finding out what they actually need, and working out which courses and materials fit. It is a selling role, but the useful half of it is judgement about learning resources, not pressure.

• Talk to students, parents, and schools about what they are trying to learn, and explain honestly what Aperio does and does not yet do.
• Take an enquiry all the way through to someone actually using the product.
• Put together the right set of learning resources for a customer — which course, which materials, what matches their curriculum.
• Bring what you hear back to the team. You would be closer to the people we build for than anyone else here.
• Keep your own records of conversations and follow-ups so nothing gets dropped.

• Experience selling to individuals or to organizations — education, tutoring, or a related field is ideal.
• Able to explain an early product without overselling it. We would rather lose a sale than promise something we have not built.
• Real judgement about learning materials: you can look at a course and tell what a student would get out of it.
• Clear spoken and written English. Additional languages are an asset — many of the families we talk to speak more than one.
• Organized and self-directed. Nobody will be watching your calendar.
• Legally entitled to work in Canada.
